Notebook containing medical recipes, commenced in 1650, but containing a few later and non-medical entries.

Remedies for common ailments and more serious conditions including plague.

ff. 86v.-91v. largely blank, some spelling exercises.

Historical Background Some recipes are attributed to particular persons, for example a Dr. Vilvin (?Robert Vilvain).

Physical Description 183 141 mm. Contemporary vellum binding, stamped with a daisy and acorn decorative centre incorporating the initials 'F.S.' on front and back boards.
